More Ways to Make Money

From Julie S.: Here's a good way to make money, if you like flowers. All you haveto do is collect flowers from your garden and arrange them in a niceway. For instance, you could have a big red flower in the middle,then surround it by all kinds of smaller blue, purple, yellow ororange flowers. Tie a pretty ribbon (the same color as the middleflower) around the whole bouquet. Make several bouquets and put themin rinsed-out glass jars or tin cans. Don't forget to put water inthe jars! Arrange the bouquets nicely on a card table and sell themin your neighborhood. Flower arrangements are good for school, churchor Girl Scout fundraisers, too.

From Ariel H., Ridgewood, NJ: My friend Annie and I made up a thing called a Beanie Baby Library. It's where you take out Beanie Babies from other peoples's collections with a BBLC (Beanie Baby Library Card). Anybody who has a collection who's a friend will do.

From Hattie Boyles: Making pins and selling them is a good money-maker.

First, find these things:
* Construction paper, post cards, magazines
* Pin-backs or safety pins
* Glue or tape
* Scissors
* Markers, pencils and pens (these are optional)

Start by drawing a picture on a piece of construction paper and color it. Then cut it out. Or you can cut pictures out of magazines and glue them onto construction paper. Or you can cut up old post cards. That's what I did.

For my example, I took an old post card (a.), then cut out the roses on the card (b). Then I took a safety pin (c.) and taped it to the back of the roses.

If I had had a pin-back, I would have glued it to the back of the picture of the flowers. But with a safety pin it's better to tape it in place.

Make a lot of these and set up a stand at a flea market or at the beach or in your front yard.
