How to Organize a Toy Auction
By Rebecca White
Here's a great way to make money by getting rid of all the stuff youreally don't play with any more.

Gather up all the old toys you and yourfriends are tired of. (Get your parents' OK -- and don't assume yourbrother or sister will want to give you their toys.) Give each person areceipt for each toy.
Pick a date and give the auction lots of publicity. Put up posters.
The day of the auction, put all the toys on display. Give everyone achance to look over the merchandise.
Now you're ready for the auction. Stand on a box or chair and start thebidding. All bids should start with a quarter. Be a creative auctioneer-- the more you talk up the toys youÕre selling, the more money you'llmake.
Mark down the final selling price of each toy on the receipts . As theauctioneer, your take is 10%. Make sure you keep accurate records.
