How to Make a Butterfly Farm

* Find a caterpillar. Use an insect or butterfly book to identify it and find out what he/she eats. The bush or leaf you discovered your crawler on is a pretty big hint!

* Keep your caterpillar in a jar, with a few small holes poked in the lid. Every day open the lid a couple of times and sprinkle water on the leaves to keep them moist. If the leaves start to wither, replace them. Also, lean a stick against the inside of the jar so the caterpillar can climb up it and, eventually, make a chrysalis.

* Once the caterpillar does make a chrysalis, wait and watch. When the butterfly does emerge from the chrysalis, take a picture while it's drying its wings. Then let it go. Unless, of course, you want to mount your butterfly as part of a collection.

Our question: What's the weirdest or most interesting thing you collect? Let usknow by sending us your answer now!

* The book has directions for making a killing jar and how to mount your butterfly collection!
